The Human Brain is divided into two cerebral hemispheres called the cerebrum. The surface of each hemisphere is thrown into folds, or gyri. Each hemisphere can be divided into four lobes. There areas are frontal, occipital, temporal, and parietal.
The frontal hemisphere areas receive long association fibers from all other lobes. It is in this region that abstract thought, judgement, tactfulness and the ability to hold oneself in check are located. Compared to sheep or other mammalian brains, humans have a huge cerebral cortex. This is due to the development of regions concerned with motor, sensory and intellectual functions.
The motor and speech centers are contained in the frontal lobe which control skeletal muscles of the larynx and tongue and muscles of the body.
